Pierce Conservation District coordinates the Tacoma - Pierce County Children's Water Festival, an annual event that brings 5th graders from around Pierce County for a day of learning about water quality and conservation.
2016 Children's Water Festival
This year's Festival was held on Tuesday, March 15th at the University of Puget Sound. There were roughly 1,070 students from 13 schools in attendance that day.
Thank you to our presenters, volunteers and sponsors!
The University of Puget Sound deserves a special thanks for hosting the event and allowing 5th graders to experience a university setting.
New this year: Teachers that participated in the Festival earned Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) certification. Teachers received curriculum and access to lessons and activities in the Project WET guide, after two in-class lessons to their classroom from a local educator.
